To run and supervise all production activities within our business, we are seeking a qualified Head of Operations. Strong background in operational efficiency, production planning, financial control, and supplier relations will define the appropriate applicant. Main Accountability:
- Head of Operations, operational leadership will guide daily management of manufacturing and agricultural activities. Your key objective will be to guarantee that, in terms of quantity and quality, we satisfy production goals. You will be in responsibility of efficiently managing resources and simplifying procedures.
- Your work will consist on identifying and applying strategies to increase operations, raise production, and cut expenses. Evaluating present processes will help you identify areas for development and implement appropriate solutions to streamline and increase the effectiveness of operations. This covers maximising efficiency in every operation and waste cutting.
- Under demand and available capacity, you will supervise the production planning and forecasting. Your responsibility will be resource management, efficient allocation, and making sure manufacturing operates on schedule and under budget. The objective is to develop realistic and attainable manufacturing schedules.
- Managing budgets and financial performance will be mostly your responsibility in financial oversight and budget control. You will supervise the preparation and implementation of budgets for every kind of running operation. Key to your success in this position will be tracking expenses, guaranteeing profitability, and coordinating activities with the finance team to match financial goals.
- Establishing close ties with suppliers and vendors will be absolutely crucial. You will manage contracts, supply chain risks, and negotiations; you will also guarantee the timely delivery of excellent products at reasonable rates. Your emphasis will be on preserving supply chain security and low prices while also maintaining quality.
- Head of Operations will oversee, mentor, and help to build a highly competent team. Key is encouraging a cooperative and efficient work environment. By making sure your staff is properly educated in operational best practices, safety guidelines, and legal needs, you will enable them to operate at their best.
- Priority is ensuring that every operation complies with business rules, industry standards, health and safety guidelines. Maintaining high standards of quality control will fall to you so that the final product satisfies business expectations and conforms with legal criteria.
- Reporting to top management, you will be the point of contact for regular briefings on important operational statistics, issues, and advancements. Good communication will enable the management team to guarantee consistency among all departments and make wise judgements.
Skills and qualifications:
Educational background: We are searching for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Agriculture, Engineering, or a closely allied discipline. An MBA or advanced certificates would be further benefit.
Experience: Ideally in the manufacturing, agriculture, or food processing industries, the perfect applicant will have at least 5–7 years of operations management experience. Success in this capacity depends on experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent knowledge in financial management, forecasting, and manufacturing planning.
- Demonstrated capacity to handle finances, increase operational effectiveness, and limit expenses.
- Background in inventory control, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Highly sought-after is knowledge of agricultural operations, dairy farming, food processing, or related businesses.
- Leading teams, making snap choices, and promoting a good, cooperative culture all depend on your ability to do so.
- Communication: Clear, intelligible communicator able to present difficult material.
- Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to base judgements and improvements on facts can help you.
